Alpha Omicron Pi was founded on a promise to serve not only one another but the greater community as well. This commitment reflects a philosophy of friendship, concern, and usefulness in the world.

Commitment to
Dignity

Whether a member chooses to serve as a chapter officer, or represent AOII as a member of other campus or community organizations, there are numerous opportunities to develop leadership skills as a member of AOII.

Commitment to
Scholarship

AOII encourages all members to excel academically and has many programs designed to assist women in achieving their academic goals. Expectations are high but the support provided by scholarship programs, academic development officer resources, and fellow members makes success attainable.

Commitment to
College Loyalty

From collegiate years on through alumnae involvement, the reason AOIIs continue service is the joy of spending time together and sharing the insights learned from the relationships we build and sustain.

Letter from the President

Thank you for taking the time to explore our website and what it means to be an Alpha Omicron Pi at the University of Alabama at Birmingham! The Zeta Pi Chapter continuously strives to "Inspire Ambition” through our dedication to scholarship, leadership and service. Our sisters can be seen serving multiple organizations at UAB and the Birmingham area, such as Order of Omega, Panhellenic Executive Board, Honors College, Undergraduate Student Government Association, Resident’s Assistants, Mental Health Ambassadors, and so much more. Their dedication extends to philanthropic efforts, including UAB Dance Marathon, Homeless Outreach, and Relay for Life. We strive to serve the Birmingham community throughout the year, while keeping our international philanthropy, the Arthritis Foundation, close to our hearts. All of our members have a bond with the Arthritis Foundation through family, friends, and members of Zeta Pi that currently suffer from arthritis.AOII serves as a support system of strong, driven women who are united by a common bond and admire each other’s differences. We set goals and encourage each other to exceed our own expectations. Sisters hold each other up when we are weak and see each other through trying times. Our chapter thrives on our diverse members, our outstanding leaders, and our strong bond in sisterhood. We strive for our members to grow during their time in AOII and UAB, so they will be able to “Inspire Ambition” in those around them.
